Pickles and Preserves:

Country Flavour. Home made sweets and preserves.

Chris and Jo Keogh make all their produce at home in Kirkby Stephen. Some of their recipes were developed by Chris’s parents at the Herb Farm, Ivegill and still bear that name. These include the Lemon Cheese, Herb jellies and Rum Butter. Chris developed the fudge and toffee to compliment these traditional preserves and now makes several tempting varieties including one using local Cumbrian butter.Chris and Jo also make marmalade and preserves from local fruit in season.

They also produce juniper and port marinades, raspberry vinegar, and pickled cherries, damsons and cranberries. contact

Pickled Pink
J
oan and Richard Crawford's pickles, chutneys, cordials and sauces are “preserves to relish” according to a recent newspaper article about their new preserves business. “Pickled Pink” by name, they make traditional and modern preserves which are increasingly in demand. All are hand crafted, no additives used .
Chutneys such as “Thai Banana and Coconut Chutney” and “Bell Pepper Relish” contrast with old favourites such as Piccalilli (superbly tangy & crunchy) and a delicious Rhubarb and Orange Chutney . The “Hot Chilli Sauce” is much in demand as is the hyper-hot cordial ”Gingerette.” “Elderflower Cordial” by contrast is refreshingly subtle . Contact
